Professor Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University in the United States, stated that Turkey is situated in one of the most significant geographic regions in the world and serves as a conduit for the health of the global economy in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

On the one hand, Turkey has developed into one of the most significant energy corridors in the world since the turn of the millennium, and on the other, it has become a transit country for raw materials moving from European nations to Asian economies, particularly China, India, Japan, and South Korea.

According to Sachs, Turkey is crucial to the health of the global economy because it fosters economic cooperation between Europe and Asia. In the future, Turkey will be able to increase its prominence within the G20. Turkey is regarded as a major transit station for commodities traveling from Europe to Asia as well as for goods traveling from China to Europe.
