Thinking to Buy Turkish Property? Be Aware of the Public Holidays

It may be a good idea to plan your visit if you are considering purchasing Turkish real estate. Numerous national and religious holidays in Turkey might make the procedure more difficult. When planning to purchase a Turkish home, it is also a good idea to have some understanding of what makes the Turkish people unique. They value Turkey's festivals, or "Bayram," since they serve as a symbol of both their nation and their religious beliefs. Some of the public and religious festivals listed here won't have a set date since they follow the Islamic calendar.

Turkish Public Holidays

Banks, government offices, and schools will be closed on public holidays, although companies can choose to operate as usual. Real estate firms may be open, but no formal work can be done to purchase Turkish property on these days.

  • The 10th of November is Atatürk Memorial Day, which is not a national holiday but is still significant in Turkey's calendar
  • Kandil - These are five Muslim holy days, not public holidays, albeit the dates here also vary according to the Muslim calendar. Although business will continue as usual, acknowledging their significance is at the very least courteous.
