Sales of Turkish Construction Companies Reached 621 Billion Tl in 5 Years

The Turkish Statistical Institute has released a report examining the financial budgets and overall profits of companies in the Turkish construction industry over the past five years.

In a report titled "Industry Budget 2021", included data showed that Turkish construction companies have seen a steady increase in sales over the period.

Total sales increased by 113.6% over the past five years

In the details of the figures included in the report, the total turnover of companies in the construction industry in Turkey was TL 290,647,203,000 at the end of 2016, TL 361,205,985,000 at the end of 2018, TL 436,111,145,000 at the end of 2018, and TL 436,111,145,0040 at the end of 2019 4,7.

Despite the difficult economic conditions caused by the spread of the coronavirus, the turnover of Turkish construction companies exceeded TL 500 billion, reaching TL 503,862,784,000 by the end of 2020, while the total turnover of companies in the construction industry was TL 620,768,301,000. This means that the total turnover of construction companies has increased by 113.6% over the past five years.

Overseas sales reached 50 billion in 5 years

In the details of internal and external sales of companies engaged in the construction industry in Turkey, the internal turnover of companies in this industry increased from TL 266.7 billion to TL 558.7 billion in the past five years. During this period, external sales of industry companies increased from TL 18.9 billion to TL 50.5 billion.

During the same period, other income from subsidiaries related to the sale of construction companies rose to TL 11 billion from TL 5.1 billion.

Real estate companies make notable strides in sales

The aforementioned report monitors the sales of companies in the real estate industry, which is closely related to the construction industry. It contains statistics showing that the sales of companies active in the real estate sector increased from TL 16.1 billion to TL 53.9 billion over the past five years.
At the same level; total internal turnover of companies in the real estate industry increased from TL 15 billion to TL 51.4 billion. Over the past five years, foreign sales have increased from TL 171.2 million to TL 773.1 million.
The financial assets of these companies also increased significantly during the mentioned period; the amount of these assets almost tripled from TL 110.1 billion to TL 317.7 billion.
