10 Agreements Between Turkey and UAE

Agreements on defense industry, health, climate change, industry, technology, trade, economy among others signed during Turkish president’s UAE visit.

There are 10 agreements between Turkey and the UAE, what are they?

Abu Dhabi Development Holdings chairman Mohammad Hassan Suwardi announced on Wednesday that a $10 billion fund has been set up to invest in Turkey.

The official UAE News Agency, WAM, explained that the new fund will focus on strategic investments, especially in logistics sectors such as energy, healthcare and food.

Therefore, Turkey and the UAE signed 10 bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields in the capital Ankara under the witness of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

The agreement was signed following bilateral and delegation-level meetings at the Presidential Palace. This happened during the first visit to Ankara by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in 12 years.

According to the official report of Turkey's Anadolu News Agency, the 10 agreements signed by the two parties are as follows:

First Deal

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange financial information in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. On the Turkish side, Khairuddin Coulter, head of the Finance Ministry's Financial Crimes Investigation Committee, and Ali Faisal Al Balawi, head of the Financial Information Department at the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, signed the agreement.

Second Agreement

Turkish Sovereign Fund CEO Ardaarme and Abu Dhabi Ports CEO Mohammed Al Shamsi signed a memorandum of understanding between Turkish and United Arab Emirates institutions.

Third agreement

Abu Dhabi Development Holding signed a memorandum of understanding with Mohammad Hassan Suwadi Aldam, CEO of Turkish Sovereign Fund and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Development Holding.

Fourth Agreement

The memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Abu Dhabi Development Holdings and the Turkish sovereign fund was signed by Mohammad Hassan Al-Suwardi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, and Al Dam, Chief Executive Officer of the Fund.

Fifth Agreement

Mohamed Hassan Al-Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company, and Ahmed Burak Daglioglu, Chairman of the Presidential Investment Authority, signed a memorandum of understanding for the cooperation between Abu Dhabi Development Holdings and the Presidential Investment Authority.

Sixth Agreement

Saeed Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, and Arisha Arican, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange Istanbul Stock Exchange signed the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Seventh Agreement

Shehab signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Central Bank of Turkey and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.
Turkey's Central Bank Governor Kavcioglu and Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Bin Muhammed Al Mazrouei.

Eighth Convention

Mehmet Muş, Minister of Trade of Turkey, and Ali Mohamed Hammad Al Shamsi, Director General of the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, signed the Turkey-UAE Customs Affairs Agreement Executive Cooperation and Partnership Agreement.

Ninth Convention

On the energy front, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Domez and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammad Al Mazrouei signed a memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation between the two countries.

Tenth Agreement

Turkish Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum and UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Maryam bint Mohammed Al Muhairi signed a memorandum of understanding between Turkey and the UAE on environmental cooperation.
